We are firmly in the second half of the Twelve Days of Christmas now, on the other side of the new year. Here now is your Convivio Book of Days Calendar for the month of January. Cover star is a mid 17th century painting by David Teniers the Younger, called Twelfth-Night (The King Drinks). Indeed, Twelfth Night will soon be upon us, so if you are celebrating (and I think you should), here’s enough warning that you can plan ahead for it.
It’s New Year’s Day as I write this. The first day of the year is an appropriate one for wassailing out in nature amongst the trees, but it’s a custom that carries well through all these remaining days of Christmas. We’ve got a lovely recipe for Wassail in the previous chapter of the blog, and you can also read there about other customs for these remaining days. Enjoy the calendar!

Happy New Year! Hope to see you at a craft show again this year like the one in Boca a couple of years ago. I so enjoy your writing and all the traditions you pass on. Wishing you and yours a wonderful, healthy year.
Thank you, Lara; I appreciate that! I wonder, did we meet at the Sankta Lucia Festival, or at one of the Jaffe Center for Book Arts’ Makers Marketplaces at FAU? We take the shows as they come, as long as they are outdoors for now… and announce them here on the blog, on Instagram and Facebook, and through our other, more literary newsletter, the Convivio Dispatch from Lake Worth. It was awfully nice seeing people again at the markets we’ve done since October, which were the first since February of 2020. There are no current concrete plans for any (though we are pondering showing at the Palm Beach Pride market here in Lake Worth in the spring). When the next market comes up, you’ll read about it here.
Happy New Year to you, too, Lara!
Happy New year!
I still believe that better days are ahead of us. I always look forward to receiving your emails. Thank you.
Thank you, Dee! Happy New Year!
