Today is Pi Day. It is the 14th of March, 3/14, or 3.14, which is mathematical Pi. This year happens to be Ultimate Pi Day, as we get to use the next two digits in Pi as well: 3.1415. Natural things to do today: math, I suppose, and eat pie.
Our Pi Day print this year is a collaboration with Charles Pratt, printed letterpress from historic wood types. Now go eat some pie.
How clever!
I thought so, too. That was Charles’s idea!
print looks great!
Thanks Chris!
I learned that today, March 14, at 9:26:53 a.m. and p.m., the date and time will spell out the first 10 digits of mathematical Pi (3.141592653). I don’t do math and I’d rather eat pie.
Two magical moments on Pi Day! It won’t happen again for another hundred years.
How do we get one of these prints?! Are the available? I’m kind of a Pi nut (not a Pine Nut, though I do love me some pignolis!) I’d love one for my studio. ^_^ (I also love wood type!)
We will make that happen, Kelly. We have to complete the final print run but when the printing’s all done, we’ll make an announcement about how to get your own Pi Day print.
